Illinois State Representative Christopher Davidsmeyer | Representative Christopher "C.D" Davidsmeyer (R) 100th District
The 2023-24 Miss Illinois County Fair Queen, Natalie Evans from Morgan County, was introduced to the Illinois House of Representatives in Springfield this week. Natalie is currently at Murray State University studying to be a veterinarian. Thaddeus Bergschneider, a member from the Franklin FFA Chapter, and also from Morgan County, is planning to attend college at the University of Illinois or Purdue University in the fall.
The students from the Pittsfield FFA Chapter were welcomed by Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer to the Capitol and introduced to the House of Representatives.
"With only five actual farmers serving in the Illinois House Currently, Ag Day at the State Capitol is very important to help educate legislators about the importance of agriculture education and the impact on family farms in Illinois," emphasized the importance of educating lawmakers on the significance of agriculture.
"Agriculture is still the number 1 industry in our state and is crucial for the economy and jobs it creates," highlighting the essential role of agriculture in Illinois' economy and job market.
